My husband and I had an excellent time at the hotel. The sea view was very relaxing

I liked the design and location of the hotel. The staff well trained and polite

The room keepers knocked on two different occasions and while I was asking whom it was and getting up to come to the door they were already opening the door to come. But I did not have the do not disturb sign on the door.

Such a great hotel. Everything was perfect. Personnel, food, roof pool, cleanliness, attention to detail.

Very Good

Beautiful hotel with a lovely rooftop garden. The Ocean Family Suites offer nice views, except for the last suite on the edge of the building. Initially, we were assigned that suite, which, although larger than the others, did not meet our expectations. The view was limited, mostly facing the mountain, and the room felt dark compared to the photos on Booking.com. On a positive note, the receptionist was very kind and accommodating. She immediately arranged for us to change rooms, and the new suite was much more comfortable, with the nice view. The breakfast and buffet dinner were very good and although we didn't plan to, we had buffet dinner almost every day of our stay.

The rooms are generally okay, but they lack the comfort and thoughtful design I would expect from a 5-star hotel at this price point. The family suites, in particular, have some odd design choices, such as open, transparent showers and toilets, which feel impractical. Small details like no place to hang your hand towels, etc. don't add comfort to your stay. Design is beautiful but it would also be nice to make it more functional.

Great for relaxation, great value for money.

Great spa experience, comfortable and spacious rooms, great housekeeping, great breakfast, pools, great car rental deals.

The quality of guest relations services was not consistent, perhaps related to the holiday season business (on several occasions, the staff did not get back to us on what they promised) We would have appreciated more information on sightseeing on the island. Entertainment could have been a little more upbeat. The hotel is about an hour drive from Funchal. It is not a big issue (you can take a taxi or rent a car), but sth. to consider if you plan to spend more time in the city.

Wonderful stay

The Saccharum is a big hotel, with many rooms, yet you'll feel extremely well taken care of. The rooms are beautiful and large, you'll find many pools, including a wonderful rooftop one with many places to sit, read, and relax. There are many bars and restaurants. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, that went the extra mile because it was my wife's birthday. We were offered a bottle of champagne in the room, there were rose petals on the bed, and we had a nice surprise dessert at the end of our meal in the Alambique restaurant. We were given the opportunity to enjoy the hotel amenities after we had checked out for our last day, which was really enjoyable. Everything was perfect from the breakfast to the cocktails in the rooftop bar. Many thanks to all the staff that we had the opportunity to be in contact with. I can only recommend for you to stay at least a few days here. Oh there's an artificial sand beach near the hotel, but I'm not sure you'll want to leave the Saccharum during your stay : )

very nice and large rooms. excellent breakfast. many different (pool) areas around the property where you could hang out and relax. Friendly staff and superb location on the island with amazing views of the ocean.

Wonderful stay

Beautiful hotel with stunning views from the top floor. Amazing swimming pool and spa. Excellent breakfast.

We had some damages in the room but it was repaired by maintanance.

Beautiful experience

It was my birthday and my husband and the stuff sneaked into room during breakfast and decorated room with balloons, champagne and a piece of cake! That was such a cool surprise! Appreciate that! We had huge room with large balcony and sea view. The restaurant on the second floor was OUTSTANDING! I mean we took 2 sets and that was absolutely unbelievable experience, we have been to a lot of places but this one has formed such a memory! Also the smell at the hotel is charming

I might say that the sink at the entrance of the room looks quite strange.

Wonderful hotel in Madeira

If you want a perfect experience in Madeira, the Saccharum hotel is by far the best choice you can make. Located approximately 35 km from Funchal, in Calheta, it offers an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean and services worthy of its 5 stars. The room is very large, modern, with an enormous and very comfortable bed, and the balcony offers a superb view of the ocean. The entire hotel staff was very nice and professional. We appreciated the fact that our room was arranged twice every day, our towels were changed, and Lucy, the person who took care of our room, left us a small sweet gift on the bed every night. The breakfast is worthy of a 5-star hotel, extremely varied and with very good quality products. If we return to Madeira, Saccharum will definitely be our first choice! I warmly recommend this hotel!
